Key functionality:
Auto scaling: When printing from Internet Explorer, the result is often a web page that is cropped on the right-hand side. Canon Easy-WebPrint solves this problem by automatically scaling the printout to fit the width of the paper.
One click for standard or high-speed printing: For quality printouts, the user can simply click the Print button on the Canon Easy-WebPrint toolbar. This prints the page currently displayed in Internet Explorer using current printer settings, including those shown in the Canon Easy-WebPrint Options dialog. For a faster printout, the user can click the High Speed Print button, and the printer's draft mode setting is automatically selected.
Easy page preview to check the printout before printing: The Preview button on the Canon Easy-WebPrint toolbar makes it quick and simple to check what the printout will look like before printing. The user may want to know how the page will look with or without background colours and images, or printed in multiple columns.
Multi-column printing: Most web pages are designed for viewing on screen, and the higher resolution provided by printers means that text and images can be slightly reduced in size with no loss of legibility. Canon Easy-WebPrint supports multi-column printing to save paper. For example, a print using landscape orientation and two columns usually requires only about half the amount of paper consumed by a conventional printout.
Optional background printing: Sometimes web site designers aim to increase the impact of their pages by including a background image, or presenting light text on a dark background. These pages can be very striking when viewed on screen, but will use a lot of ink to print. To capture just the information from these kinds of pages, without reproducing the screen version exactly, users can turn off printing of background colours and images via the Canon Easy-WebPrint Options dialog.
Intelligent handling of pages with frames: When displayed in the browser, scroll bars may be added to some frames. When a frames page is printed by a browser, the scroll bars may also be included on the printout, so not all of the information is visible. Canon Easy-WebPrint automatically expands frames so that all information is captured on the printed page. |
