Drawing on a pool of diverse talents and multidisciplinery expertise, CISRA has conducted research in a wide range of fields. From hardware architectures such as parallel error-diffusion, to manufacturing optimisation by simulated annealing, CISRA has tackled difficult problems and developed innovative solutions.  Research cannot occur in a vacuum. By utilising links to other research groups, CISRA can draw upon a wide pool of knowledge and expertise. Recognising the importance of patents to Canon's business, CISRA has an in-house patent department that performs patent searching and drafting for CISRA's researchers and engineers. By working with the researchers and engineers from the beginning to the end of each project, patents can be identified, drafted and filed earlier.
